Liposuction permanently removes fat cells from stubborn localised deposits — it is a body-contouring procedure rather than a weight-loss treatment, ideal for patients near their stable weight with disproportionate fat pockets. **Technique:** Through 3–4 mm incisions, the surgeon infiltrates tumescent solution (saline with local anaesthetic and adrenaline) that numbs the area and minimises bleeding, then aspirates fat with fine cannulas in controlled passes. The optional MicroAire PAL (power-assisted liposuction) handpiece vibrates the cannula tip, releasing fat more efficiently — useful in fibrous areas (male chest, back) and for larger volumes, with less surgeon fatigue and tissue trauma. **Anaesthesia options:** Single small-to-large areas can be treated awake under local tumescent anaesthesia at lower cost and with quick discharge.
