Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is one of the most frequently performed facial plastic surgeries, addressing excess upper-lid skin that hoods the eye (and may even narrow the visual field) and the fat herniation that creates persistent under-eye bags.

Procedure

For upper lids, the surgeon marks and removes a crescent of redundant skin (and a strip of orbicularis muscle or fat where indicated) through an incision placed in the natural lid crease, so the resulting fine scar sits hidden when the eye is open.
