Its distinguishing feature is the amino acid profile — a specialised analysis that assesses the individual amino acids involved in muscle protein synthesis, neurotransmitter production, and energy metabolism. Amino acid imbalances can drive fatigue, poor recovery, mood disturbances, and impaired protein utilisation that athletes often attribute to overtraining or dietary inadequacy. The hormonal component adds testosterone and cortisol assessment — the testosterone:cortisol ratio is an established marker of training load and recovery balance. A declining ratio over time suggests catabolic dominance and insufficient recovery. DHEA-S provides context about adrenal function and anabolic reserve. The expanded panel includes homocysteine — a cardiovascular risk marker that also reflects B-vitamin methylation capacity.
