Dental Implants

Duration

Placement of a titanium dental implant to replace a missing tooth at the root, performed by the clinic's surgery and implantology team. The implant acts as an artificial root that integrates with the jawbone over a healing period before a crown is fitted on top. CBCT imaging and intraoral scanning on site are used to plan the position precisely. The figure shown covers the implant placement; the restoring crown is quoted separately after healing.

A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a small titanium post that is placed into the jawbone, where it gradually fuses with the surrounding bone in a process called osseointegration. Once that bond is established, the implant provides a stable foundation for a crown, bridge or denture, allowing a missing tooth to be restored without grinding down the neighbouring teeth. At MultiMedica the procedure is carried out by clinicians focusing on oral surgery and implantology, using the clinic's own CBCT cone-beam scanner and intraoral scanning to assess bone volume and plan the implant position before treatment. The placement itself is performed under local anaesthetic, and the listed fee includes anaesthesia. After surgery a healing period of typically a few months allows the implant to integrate before the final restoration is attached; a temporary solution can often be arranged in the interim. The price quoted here is for the implant fixture; the abutment and the crown that sits on top are planned and priced separately once healing is complete, so the total cost depends on the final restoration chosen. Where there is insufficient bone height in the upper jaw, a sinus-lift procedure may be recommended first. Suitability, the number of implants needed and the full treatment sequence are reviewed at an implant consultation, which can be booked with or without a written treatment plan.
