CT Scan

CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) is a low-dose 3D dental scan that captures the teeth, jawbone, nerves and sinuses in three dimensions. Available on site, it is used to plan implants, assess impacted teeth, investigate root and jaw problems and evaluate bone before surgery. The detailed images give the clinicians far more information than a flat X-ray. Pricing depends on the region scanned, with panoramic and point X-rays also available.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a specialised form of 3D imaging designed for the teeth and jaws. Unlike a conventional flat dental X-ray, it captures a volumetric image that can be viewed from any angle, showing the exact position and shape of tooth roots, the height and width of the jawbone, the path of nerves and the anatomy of the maxillary sinuses. Having this scanner on site allows MultiMedica to plan and assess treatment accurately within the clinic, which is particularly valuable for placing implants safely, evaluating impacted or problematic teeth, investigating complex root canal anatomy, and checking bone before surgical procedures such as a sinus lift. The scan itself is quick and non-invasive: the patient stays still for a short rotation of the machine, and modern cone-beam units use a comparatively low radiation dose for the detailed information they provide. The price varies with the size of the region being imaged — for example a focused scan of the sinuses or the temporomandibular joints is priced at 100 zł, while a broader dental CBCT ranges from 125 zł to 225 zł — so patients only pay for the area clinically required. The clinic also offers standard two-dimensional imaging, including panoramic (pantomogram) X-rays for an overview of all the teeth and jaws, bitewing X-rays and single point X-rays, as well as intraoral scanning for digital impressions. The appropriate type of imaging is chosen by the dentist based on what the treatment requires.
