Injection Lipolysis — Localised Fat Reduction

Type

Botox & Fillers

Duration

40 min

Non-surgical reduction of localised subcutaneous fat deposits using injections of phosphatidylcholine, L-Carnitine and specialist peptides into targeted fat pockets. The active ingredients dissolve fat cell membranes — a process called lipolysis — causing adipocytes to release their contents, which are then cleared by the body's macrophage and lymphatic systems and excreted via the liver. Treatment is available for the double chin, cheeks, abdomen, thighs and the area around the knees. A course of three to six sessions is recommended, with each session spaced four to six weeks apart to allow full fat clearance before the next.

Injection lipolysis — also known as mesotherapy for fat, phosphatidylcholine therapy or, colloquially, injection fat reduction — is a non-surgical technique for reducing small, stubborn fat deposits that resist diet and exercise. The treatment uses phosphatidylcholine (PPC), a naturally occurring phospholipid found in cell membranes, combined with deoxycholate (a bile salt that facilitates PPC emulsification) and supporting ingredients such as L-Carnitine and specialty peptides. When injected in precise quantities into subcutaneous fat, PPC disrupts the integrity of adipocyte membranes. Adipocytes — fat storage cells — release their lipid contents as their membranes break down. The local inflammatory response attracts macrophages that engulf the liberated lipid debris; these are then transported via lymphatic vessels and eventually processed by the liver and excreted. This sequence plays out over three to six weeks after each session, which is why sessions are spaced four to six weeks apart: rushing the schedule does not allow complete fat clearance from the previous session. MUDr. Brychtová administers injection lipolysis at the double chin (podbradek) — the most commonly requested site — as well as the cheeks (tváře), abdomen (břicho), thighs (stehna) and the soft tissue around the knees. The technique involves a series of small injections into the fat layer at the target site, distributed systematically across the treatment zone. The area may feel tender, warm and swollen for several days after each session — an expected sign of the inflammatory clearance process at work. Three to six sessions produce results that are gradual but persistent: because the treated adipocytes do not regenerate, the reduction is long-lasting provided body weight remains stable. This distinguishes injection lipolysis from body contouring modalities such as ultrasound cavitation or cryolipolysis in that the mechanism is direct chemical cell disruption rather than thermal or mechanical stress. For small, isolated deposits — particularly the double chin and localised cheek fullness — injection lipolysis is an effective non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Patients should expect swelling and possible bruising for up to one to two weeks after each session, and should plan their social schedule accordingly. The treatment is not appropriate for widespread obesity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver disease or anticoagulant use. MUDr. Brychtová reviews medical history at consultation to confirm suitability.
