Pelvic MRI

MRI of the pelvis evaluating the bladder, reproductive organs, pelvic floor musculature, and bony pelvis. Useful for investigating pelvic pain, urological symptoms, and gynaecological or prostate-related concerns.

Pelvic MRI at MRI Diagnostyka images the contents of the pelvic cavity using the Siemens 1.5T scanner, including the urinary bladder, rectum, pelvic floor muscles, iliopsoas muscles, sacroiliac joints, and sex-specific structures -- the uterus, ovaries, and adnexa in women; the prostate and seminal vesicles in men. MRI provides superior soft-tissue contrast compared with CT, making it the preferred modality for characterising pelvic pathology. In women, the scan is valuable for assessing uterine fibroids (size, location, and submucosal extent), endometriotic deposits, adnexal masses, and pelvic floor descent. In men, pelvic MRI can evaluate prostate morphology, detect suspicious lesions warranting biopsy consideration, and assess for pelvic lymphadenopathy. For both sexes, the scan identifies bladder wall abnormalities, sacroiliac joint inflammation (sacroiliitis), and hip joint pathology that extends into the pelvic field of view. The non-contrast protocol takes approximately 30 minutes and requires no referral. Contrast-enhanced studies are available with a physician referral at an additional 370 PLN surcharge for pelvic protocols. At 750 PLN (roughly EUR 175) for the standard non-contrast scan, MRI Diagnostyka provides pelvic imaging at a substantial discount compared with Western European private centres, where equivalent scans typically cost EUR 500 to EUR 1,100.
