Head + Angiography MRI

Combined MRI of the brain and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) of the cerebral arteries. Assesses both brain parenchyma and the intracranial vasculature for aneurysms, stenosis, and vascular malformations in a single session.

The combined head and angiography MRI at MRI Diagnostyka pairs standard brain parenchymal imaging with time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (TOF-MRA) of the intracranial arterial circulation. This dual-protocol examination images both the brain tissue and the circle of Willis, middle cerebral arteries, anterior cerebral arteries, posterior cerebral arteries, and basilar artery system in a single 40-minute session on the Siemens 1.5T scanner. The brain parenchymal component uses standard multi-sequence imaging (T1, T2, FLAIR, DWI) to screen for tumours, cysts, white matter changes, and signs of prior cerebrovascular events. The angiographic component adds vascular assessment that a standard brain MRI does not provide, specifically screening for intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and haemodynamically significant stenoses. TOF-MRA achieves this without contrast injection by exploiting the signal differences between flowing blood and stationary tissue. This combined study is particularly relevant for patients with a family history of cerebral aneurysm, those presenting with sudden-onset headaches or transient neurological symptoms, and individuals seeking a thorough neurovascular screening as part of a preventive health assessment. At 800 PLN (approximately EUR 186), the combined protocol is substantially cheaper than booking brain MRI and MRA separately at Western European centres, where the combined cost would typically range from EUR 600 to EUR 1,400.
