Cervical spine MRI at MRI Diagnostyka images the seven vertebrae of the neck, the intervertebral discs between them, the spinal cord traversing the cervical canal, exiting nerve roots, and the supporting ligamentous structures. This is the investigation of choice for patients presenting with neck pain, radiating arm symptoms, paraesthesia in the hands, or reduced grip strength -- all of which may indicate disc herniation, foraminal stenosis, or cord compression. The Siemens 1.5T scanner produces high-resolution sagittal and axial images that allow the reporting radiologist to assess disc height, hydration status, posterior disc contour, facet joint arthropathy, uncovertebral joint hypertrophy, and any cord signal change suggestive of myelopathy. Incidental findings such as vertebral haemangiomas, Chiari malformations, or syringomyelia are also evaluated. No referral is needed for the standard non-contrast protocol. The examination takes approximately 25 minutes.
