MRI of the abdominal cavity evaluating the liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, and adrenal glands. Detects masses, cysts, organ enlargement, and structural abnormalities without radiation exposure.

Abdominal MRI at MRI Diagnostyka provides cross-sectional imaging of the solid and hollow organs within the abdominal cavity using the Siemens 1.5T scanner. The examination covers the liver (including assessment of parenchymal signal for steatosis and iron overload), kidneys (cortical thickness, cysts, masses), spleen (size, focal lesions), pancreas (morphology, ductal dilatation), gallbladder (wall thickness, calculi), adrenal glands (adenomas, incidentalomas), and the major abdominal vessels. MRI is the preferred modality for characterising liver lesions first detected on ultrasound, distinguishing benign haemangiomas and focal nodular hyperplasia from potentially malignant lesions. It is also superior to CT for pancreatic duct assessment and for renal lesion characterisation in patients who cannot receive iodinated contrast. The absence of ionising radiation makes abdominal MRI a good choice for longitudinal surveillance or preventive screening. The standard non-contrast scan takes approximately 35 minutes. Contrast-enhanced studies are available with a physician referral at an additional surcharge of 300 PLN for abdominal/pelvic protocols. At 800 PLN (roughly EUR 186) for the non-contrast protocol, MRI Diagnostyka offers abdominal imaging at prices considerably below private facilities in Germany, Austria, or the UK, where equivalent scans typically cost EUR 500 to EUR 1,200.
