The brain MRI at MRI Centrum captures high-resolution images of the cerebral hemispheres, cerebellum, brainstem, and surrounding structures including the meninges and cranial vasculature. MRI is the preferred modality for brain imaging because of its superior soft-tissue contrast compared to CT. Different sequence types — T1-weighted, T2-weighted, FLAIR, and diffusion-weighted — highlight different tissue characteristics, allowing radiologists to distinguish between oedema, haemorrhage, ischaemia, and tumour with high specificity. Intravenous contrast (gadolinium) may be administered when indicated, at an additional charge of EUR 78.12.

The scan itself takes approximately 20-30 minutes, during which the patient lies still inside the scanner bore. MRI Centrum's extended operating hours — including evenings until 22:30 and weekends — make it straightforward to schedule around work or travel commitments, which is particularly relevant for international patients visiting Amsterdam or Rotterdam.
