MR angiography at MR Centrum Titanium images the arteries and veins of the brain without contrast agent and without ionising radiation, using flow-sensitive MRI sequences. It is used to look for aneurysms, vascular narrowing, malformations and venous sinus problems, and to follow up known vascular findings. The scan takes 15–40 minutes in a modern scanner with hearing protection and continuous staff contact, and is reported by radiologists subspecialised in neuroradiology and angiography, including MUDr. Tomáš Rohan, Ph.D. Because no contrast injection is needed, the examination is entirely non-invasive and suitable for patients who prefer to avoid contrast agents.
About this treatment
MR angiography (MRA) uses the movement of blood itself as the imaging signal: time-of-flight and phase-contrast MRI sequences depict flowing blood brightly against stationary tissue, producing detailed three-dimensional maps of the cerebral arteries and veins with no catheter, no X-rays and — at MR Centrum Titanium — no contrast injection.
Why it is requested
MRA of the head is commonly indicated to screen for intracranial aneurysms (including in patients with a family history), to assess arterial narrowing or occlusion after transient neurological symptoms, to characterise vascular malformations, to evaluate pulsatile tinnitus, and to examine the venous sinuses where thrombosis is suspected. It is frequently combined with a standard brain MRI in one visit when both the brain tissue and its vessels need…

Booking options & clinic offers
50% discount on MR examinations during the centre's trial-operation period (promotion ran until mid-June 2026) — confirm current pricing by phone.
Preparation required
Arrive 15 minutes early with your referral and insurance card. No fasting needed unless advised. Come without make-up or hair products. Remove all metal items; declare implants and any metal fragments in the safety questionnaire. Lie as still as possible during the scan — motion degrades vascular image quality.
