Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals is performed on high-field MRI systems providing superior soft-tissue contrast and diagnostic clarity without ionising radiation. The radiology department covers the full spectrum of clinical MRI applications, with subspecialty radiologists reporting studies in neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, body MRI, and cardiac MRI. Brain and spine MRI are the most commonly requested studies, used to evaluate headaches, seizures, stroke, multiple sclerosis, disc herniation, spinal canal stenosis, and nerve root compression. Musculoskeletal MRI provides detailed assessment of joint pathology including rotator cuff tears, ligament and meniscal injuries of the knee, cartilage defects, and labral tears of the hip and shoulder — examinations that are critical for surgical planning in orthopaedics.
