Magnetic resonance imaging of one ankle, giving a detailed view of the ligaments, tendons, cartilage and bone around the joint. About this treatment

An MRI of the ankle shows the soft-tissue structures that control and stabilise the joint in fine detail — the lateral and medial ligaments, the Achilles and other tendons, the joint cartilage and the bone, including the marrow. This makes it the imaging method usually chosen to investigate the aftermath of a bad sprain or twist, ongoing ankle pain or swelling, a feeling of instability or giving way, suspected tendon tears or tendinopathy, and…

At MojaDiagnoza the scan is acquired on the centre's own MRI system, with the foot and ankle placed in a dedicated coil while you lie still for the sequences, typically around fifteen to twenty-five minutes. Because only the lower limb enters the magnet, the examination is generally well tolerated; ear protection is provided as the scanner is noisy during imaging.
