About this treatment

Home (take-home) teeth whitening is a dentist-supervised method of lightening tooth colour using custom-made trays filled with a professional whitening gel, worn for a set period each day over one to two weeks. It produces gradual, controlled results and is gentler on sensitivity than some in-chair methods.

How it works

The whitening gel (typically a peroxide-based agent) releases oxygen that breaks down stain molecules within the enamel and dentine, lightening the overall shade of the teeth. Because the trays are custom-made from impressions of your teeth, the gel is held evenly against the tooth surfaces and kept away from the gums as much as possible, improving both results and comfort compared with one-size-fits-all kits.
