Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin with fine needles to stimulate its natural renewal, improving texture, fine lines, enlarged pores and the appearance of scarring. The micro-channels also help active serums absorb more effectively during treatment. At MJAesthetic it is offered for the face and for targeted scar and stretch-mark work, and is most effective as a short course.
About this treatment
Microneedling uses a device with very fine needles to create thousands of tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin. These small, superficial injuries are associated with the skin's natural wound-healing response, prompting renewal that can firm the surface and refine its texture over the following weeks. The same micro-channels also allow active serums applied during treatment to penetrate more effectively than they would on intact skin.
At MJAesthetic the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied before treatment, which takes around thirty to forty-five minutes depending on the area. Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for a day or two, after which the skin looks fresher and, over a few weeks, smoother and more even. It is well suited to uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and the appearance of mild-to-moderate scarring or stretch marks, and a course of around three sessions…
