Hyaluronic acid fillers used to soften deeper, static folds and to restore support where the face has lost volume — such as the lines running from the nose to the mouth. Unlike botulinum toxin, which relaxes muscle, filler physically replaces lost volume and cushions creases. At MJAesthetic treatment follows a consultation and is planned around facial proportions, with hyaluronic acid chosen because it integrates with the tissue and can be adjusted if needed.

About this treatment

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are soft gels that add volume and support beneath the skin. They are well suited to static folds that remain visible at rest — most commonly the nasolabial folds between the nose and mouth, marionette lines, and hollows such as the tear trough — where simply relaxing muscle would not help. By replacing volume in the right plane, filler can lift and smooth these areas and refresh the overall contour.

At MJAesthetic the physician assesses the face as a whole and agrees a plan, starting conservatively where appropriate. Numbing cream is applied and most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic for comfort; the gel is placed with a fine needle or a blunt cannula depending on the area.
