Nutrition Consultation
Duration
45 min
Personalised nutrition counselling from registered dietitians at Minmed clinics, covering weight management, metabolic health, diabetes, chronic disease dietary support, and general wellness nutrition.
Minmed Group's registered dietitians provide evidence-based nutrition counselling for a wide range of health goals and medical conditions, available at selected clinic locations across Singapore. Nutrition consultation services can be booked as standalone appointments or as part of the Medical Weight Management Programme, where the dietitian works in close collaboration with the supervising physician. An initial nutrition consultation begins with a thorough dietary assessment: a detailed food history, meal pattern analysis, cultural and lifestyle context, and review of current medical conditions and medications. The dietitian interprets this alongside blood test results (such as HbA1c for diabetes, LDL for cardiovascular risk, or ALT for fatty liver disease) to identify nutritional priorities and formulate a personalised dietary plan. Conditions and goals that Minmed dietitians address include: obesity and weight management; type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes (carbohydrate counting, glycaemic index management, low-carbohydrate approaches); dyslipidaemia and cardiovascular disease (DASH diet, plant-based fat modification, omega-3 integration); non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) — including metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD); gout and hyperuricaemia; irritable bowel syndrome and digestive health; eating for healthy ageing and longevity; and sports and performance nutrition. For patients on GLP-1 weight loss therapy, the dietitian plays a critical supportive role: ensuring adequate protein intake (minimum 1.2 g/kg body weight) to preserve lean muscle during calorie restriction, managing reduced appetite to prevent micronutrient deficiencies, and progressively reintroducing food groups as nausea side effects improve with dose titration. Dietary plans are practical and culturally sensitive — designed around Singapore's diverse food culture including hawker centre eating, halal and vegetarian dietary requirements, and time constraints of working professionals. Follow-up appointments monitor progress, refine the plan, and provide ongoing accountability. All Minmed dietitians are registered with the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA), ensuring their qualifications and practice meet national professional standards.
