Surgical facelift to address jowling, midface descent, neck laxity, and deep nasolabial folds by repositioning the underlying SMAS layer and removing excess skin. Four variants: traditional facelift, mini facelift, mid-facelift, and deep plane facelift. Performed at the JCAHO-accredited Manhattan facility by Dr. David Shokrian. Can be combined with eyelid surgery, brow lift, or fat transfer. Consultation required for pricing.
Facelift surgery (rhytidectomy) at Millennial Plastic Surgery addresses the structural signs of facial ageing that cannot be reversed by non-surgical means — jowl formation from descent of facial fat pads and skin laxity along the jawline, deepening nasolabial folds, midface hollowing, and loose neck skin with platysmal banding (vertical neck cords). Dr. David Shokrian offers four facelift variants graduated by extent and depth. The mini facelift (short-scar facelift) uses shorter incisions hidden in the hairline and ear contour to tighten the lower face and early jowl, with less recovery time and suitable for younger patients with mild-to-moderate laxity. The traditional facelift extends incisions from the temple hairline around the ear and into the posterior hairline, allowing more extensive skin and SMAS repositioning for moderate-to-significant facial laxity across the mid- and lower face and neck. The mid-facelift specifically targets the malar fat pad — the cheek fullness that descends below the cheekbone with age — using limited incisions to re-elevate this compartment without the full recovery of a comprehensive facelift. The deep plane facelift releases and repositions the SMAS and deeper facial ligaments together with the overlying fat and skin as a composite flap, achieving more durable and natural-looking correction of nasolabial folds and midface descent than SMAS-plication techniques. The facelift can be combined with neck lift (platysmaplasty), fat grafting to restore volume, brow lift, and blepharoplasty within the same surgical session to address the full three-dimensional facial ageing picture. Recovery involves dressings and drains for forty-eight hours, with visible swelling resolving progressively over six weeks and final results visible at three to six months.
