Breast augmentation at Millennial Plastic Surgery uses prosthetic implants to increase breast volume and improve symmetry and shape. The procedure is performed by Dr. David Shokrian or Dr. Mohamed S. Elfar, both of whom are experienced in the full range of breast augmentation variables. Three implant material types are available: saline implants (silicone shells filled with sterile saltwater) that can be filled to the desired volume after insertion and tend to have a firmer feel; silicone gel implants (pre-filled with a cohesive silicone gel) that feel more similar to natural breast tissue; and gummy bear implants (form-stable, highly cohesive silicone gel) that maintain their teardrop shape even if the shell is cut and are associated with the lowest capsular contracture rates among cohesive gel designs. Implant profile options (low, moderate, high) allow fine-tuning of forward projection for each patient's desired outcome. Incision approach options include inframammary (in the breast fold, offering direct access and a hidden scar), periareolar (around the areola border), and transaxillary (through the armpit). The implant pocket can be placed subglandularly (above the pectoralis muscle — less discomfort, more natural movement for patients with adequate tissue coverage) or submuscularly/dual-plane (partially beneath the pectoralis — improved upper pole coverage and reduced visible edge for patients with thin tissue). Detailed implant selection and pocket planning are determined at the consultation based on chest measurements, existing breast tissue, skin envelope quality, and the patient's aesthetic goals. The procedure typically takes ninety minutes. Recovery involves a support bra for six weeks with return to light activity at two weeks.
