Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved or is causing problems, carried out under local anaesthetic. This ranges from a straightforward extraction of an erupted tooth to surgical removal of an impacted wisdom tooth. Where helpful, the clinic can place platelet-rich fibrin from your own blood into the socket to support healing. Pricing reflects the difficulty of the extraction and whether a surgical approach is required.
About this treatment
An extraction may be the right option when a tooth is too damaged by decay or fracture to restore, is severely affected by gum disease, or — in the case of wisdom teeth — is impacted and causing pain, infection or crowding. At Milanova the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic so the area is fully numb, and the dentist plans it using the clinic's imaging, including cone-beam CT where a tooth lies close to a nerve or sinus.
A simple extraction of a fully erupted tooth is usually quick and followed by straightforward aftercare. More complicated cases — curved or fragile roots, or a wisdom tooth that is partly or fully buried in bone — are handled surgically, which may involve raising a small flap of gum and sectioning the tooth so it can be removed gently.
