Vaccination does not always confer lifelong immunity, and antibody levels wane at different rates for different diseases. This panel measures circulating antibody titres for 8 common vaccine-preventable infections, providing objective evidence of current immune protection status. Tetanus and diphtheria antibodies typically persist for approximately 10 years after boosting, though individual variation is substantial. Hepatitis A and B titres confirm whether the vaccination series achieved adequate immune response — up to 10% of adults do not respond to standard hepatitis B vaccination and may require additional doses or an alternative schedule. Measles, mumps, and rubella antibody testing is relevant for adults who may not have received a complete two-dose MMR series, healthcare workers requiring documented immunity, and those planning travel to areas with active outbreaks. Varicella serology confirms chickenpox immunity in adults uncertain of childhood infection status, which is particularly important given the higher complication rates of adult varicella. This panel is valuable when vaccination records have been lost, for immigration medical requirements, before international travel, or for healthcare and childcare workers needing documented immunity. Results are typically available the same day from the Munich laboratory.
