ALEX2 Comprehensive Allergy Test

A multiplex IgE allergy test profiling over 300 allergen components from a single blood draw. Covers inhalation allergens, food allergens, insect venoms, and cross-reactive components. Component-resolved diagnostics distinguish genuine primary allergies from cross-reactions — critical information for immunotherapy planning and dietary management decisions.

The ALEX2 (Allergy Explorer 2) platform profiles over 300 allergen molecular components simultaneously, providing a comprehensive map of IgE sensitisation patterns from a single blood sample. This represents a significant advance over traditional single-allergen IgE testing or skin prick methods. The primary advantage of component-resolved diagnostics is the ability to distinguish true primary sensitisation from cross-reactivity. A positive peanut result on a conventional IgE test might reflect cross-reaction with birch pollen proteins rather than a genuine peanut allergy — a distinction with major implications for dietary restrictions and emergency preparedness. The test covers all major allergen families: tree and grass pollens, weed pollens, dust mites, moulds, animal dander, insect venoms, and an extensive range of food allergens including nuts, shellfish, fruits, cereals, and spices. Cross-reactive carbohydrate determinants (CCDs) are measured and flagged, as these cause false positives on conventional panels. No antihistamine washout is required, unlike skin prick testing. Results typically require 48 hours due to the analytical complexity. The output identifies each component with its specific IgE level, enabling targeted immunotherapy planning.
