Laser hair removal targets the pigment in the hair follicle with pulses of light to reduce unwanted hair over a course of sessions. The clinic treats facial areas such as the mustache, beard and cheeks as well as the underarms, bikini, legs, back and chest, with prices set per area and a first-session discount. Because hair grows in cycles, several sessions spaced weeks apart are needed for a lasting reduction.
About this treatment
Laser hair removal works by directing pulses of light at the melanin pigment in the hair, which absorbs the energy and converts it to heat that disables the follicle's ability to regrow hair. Because only hairs in the active growth phase respond at any one time, the treatment is delivered as a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart so that successive cycles of hair are caught, gradually reducing density and thickness.
At Medycyna Piękna the area is cleansed and the laser settings adjusted to your skin and hair; a session ranges from a few minutes for a small zone such as the mustache or underarms up to longer for the legs or back. Most people feel a brief snapping or warm sensation with each pulse, and the skin may look slightly pink for a short time afterwards.
