Modern multislice CT scanners acquire multiple image slices per gantry rotation using spiral CT protocols, delivering rapid acquisitions that reduce patient movement artefact while minimising scan time. All protocols are optimised for the lowest radiation dose consistent with diagnostic image quality for each indication.
