PRP & PRF Skin Treatment (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

Platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin use a small sample of your own blood, spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, then injected to support skin repair and rejuvenation. Because the material is your own, it is well tolerated and a natural option for improving skin quality. At MEDIWA Clinic both PRP and the more concentrated PRF are offered, with discounted three-session courses for a fuller effect.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) are regenerative skin treatments that use your own blood's healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors associated with tissue repair and collagen production. This concentrated preparation is then injected into the skin to support tone, texture and firmness. PRF is prepared with a gentler spin so it retains fibrin and a broader mix of cells, releasing growth factors more slowly. At MEDIWA Clinic the process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of an allergic reaction to a foreign substance, which makes PRP and PRF popular with patients who prefer a natural approach. Expect mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results build gradually as the skin responds over several weeks, so a course of around three sessions a few weeks apart is recommended, with periodic maintenance. The treatments suit dull or tired skin and fine lines, and the same platelet preparations are also used by the clinic for hair. Suitability is assessed beforehand; they are not performed during pregnancy or in certain blood or clotting conditions.
