Hair-loss treatment at MEDIWA Clinic begins with diagnosis: a trichoscopic examination uses magnified imaging of the scalp and hair shafts, combined with a consultation, to characterise the pattern of thinning and guide treatment. For suitable patients, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is then used on the scalp. A small blood sample is spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, which are injected across the thinning areas. The growth factors are associated with improved blood supply to hair follicles and a prolonged active growth phase, which may help existing hair look thicker and reduce excessive shedding. A PRP session takes around thirty to forty-five minutes, with the scalp numbed for comfort and essentially no downtime beyond possible mild tenderness. PRP works best for early-to-moderate, non-scarring thinning — including age- and hormone-related thinning — rather than areas where follicles are already lost, so realistic expectations are set at consultation. A typical plan is an initial course of around three sessions followed by maintenance, and results are gradual and depend on continuing treatment.
