Ablative Fractional Laser (CHROME)

An ablative fractional laser that resurfaces the skin in microscopic columns to strongly improve texture, deeper lines, acne scarring and tone. By treating only a fraction of the surface at a time, it drives significant renewal while leaving surrounding skin intact to speed healing. The CHROME ablative fractional laser delivers energy into the skin in a grid of microscopic treatment zones, vaporising tiny columns of tissue while leaving the skin between them untouched. This fractional approach triggers a strong wound-healing and collagen-remodelling response that resurfaces the skin — smoothing texture, softening deeper lines, improving acne scarring and evening out tone — while the untreated bridges of skin allow faster recovery than older fully ablative resurfacing that treats the entire surface. At MediLaser the skin is cleansed and numbed before treatment, which takes around thirty to forty-five minutes for the face. Because this is an ablative treatment, expect more downtime than a non-ablative laser: the skin feels warm and looks flushed, with some swelling and a sandpaper-like or peeling texture over several days as it renews, so it is best planned around a quieter period. Diligent moisturising and strict sun protection during recovery are essential. Improvements continue for weeks to months as new collagen forms, and a planned course is associated with the strongest results for texture and scarring. The treatment is not suitable over active infection or for certain skin conditions and is avoided in pregnancy; suitability and the right settings for your skin are confirmed beforehand.
