An extended men's health screening panel adding acute cardiac injury and heart failure markers to MEDILA's comprehensive baseline. Beyond the 30+ biomarkers in the standard men's panel, Kardio+ adds Troponin I (myocardial injury), NT-proBNP (heart failure stress marker), D-dimers (thrombosis/clotting), creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Free T4 (extended thyroid), Free PSA (prostate differentiation), and a full electrolyte panel (sodium, potassium, chlorides, calcium, magnesium). This is the appropriate choice for men with cardiovascular risk factors, known cardiac symptoms, hypertension, or a family history of heart disease who want a clinically comprehensive cardiac risk screen rather than a basic lipid panel. Physician commentary and a doctor phone consultation within 14 days are included.

The Komplexní preventivní screening Kardio+ pro muže at MEDILA extends the comprehensive men's baseline with a targeted suite of advanced cardiovascular biomarkers, addressing the needs of men who have identified cardiovascular risk factors or who want a more thorough cardiac assessment than the standard prevention panel provides. The additional cardiac markers in Kardio+ each address a distinct dimension of cardiovascular risk and acute cardiac health: Troponin I is the gold-standard biomarker for myocardial injury. Cardiac troponins are proteins released from damaged heart muscle cells; elevated Troponin I indicates myocardial cell death and is used both for the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction and for detecting subclinical myocardial damage in conditions such as myocarditis, heart failure, and sepsis. In a prevention screening context, Troponin I measured at rest reflects the absence or presence of ongoing cardiac cellular stress — an elevated value warrants immediate clinical investigation. NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide) is released by ventricular cardiomyocytes in response to increased wall stretch and pressure overload — the signature of heart failure, left ventricular dysfunction, and significant valvular disease. It is one of the most powerful clinical biomarkers for detecting asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction before symptoms develop. Elevated NT-proBNP in a screening context is a flag for further echocardiographic evaluation. D-dimers are fibrin degradation products elevated whenever there is active clot formation and fibrinolysis. In a non-emergency prevention context, elevated D-dimers may indicate subclinical venous thromboembolism, systemic inflammatory states, or hypercoagulable conditions — all of which carry cardiovascular risk. They complement the Troponin and NT-proBNP data. Creatine kinase (CK) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) are enzymes released from muscle (including cardiac muscle) during injury. In the context of a prevention panel, CK is particularly relevant for men with high physical activity, as exercise-induced rhabdomyolysis can cause subclinical elevations. Both markers are also elevated in thyroid disease (hypothyroidism raises CK and LDH). Full electrolyte panel (sodium, potassium, chlorides, calcium, magnesium): Electrolyte balance is fundamental to cardiac electrical stability. Hypokalaemia and hypomagnesaemia are independent risk factors for arrhythmia. Magnesium deficiency is widespread and associated with hypertension, insulin resistance, and increased cardiovascular risk. Free T4 adds thyroid resolution beyond the TSH already in the base panel — distinguishing subclinical from overt thyroid dysfunction and providing a more complete thyroid function assessment. Free PSA is added alongside the standard total PSA. The free-to-total PSA ratio helps discriminate between benign prostatic hyperplasia (higher ratio) and prostate cancer (lower ratio), improving the specificity of the PSA result for clinical decision-making. The full base panel biomarkers are retained: CBC, lipid profile, liver function, kidney function, HbA1c, glucose, CRP, ferritin, vitamin D, protein electrophoresis, CEA, urinalysis, stool FOB, and blood pressure. Written physician commentary and phone consultation within 14 days are included.
