PRP Platelet-Rich Plasma

Type

Mesotherapy

Duration

45 min

Autologous PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy at MEDICOM Clinic Brno, using growth factors concentrated from the patient's own blood to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and support tissue regeneration. A fully biological treatment requiring no synthetic materials.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy at MEDICOM Clinic Brno uses the patient's own blood as the source of active growth factors, making it one of the most biocompatible regenerative treatments in aesthetic medicine. The treatment process begins with a venous blood draw of 10–30 ml, which is then processed in a calibrated centrifuge to separate plasma from red blood cells and isolate the platelet fraction. The resulting PRP contains a platelet concentration three to five times higher than baseline whole blood, delivering a concentrated payload of growth factors to the treatment site. Platelets contain alpha-granules loaded with growth factors critical to tissue repair and regeneration: platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1), and epidermal growth factor (EGF). When PRP is injected into the dermis, these growth factors are released locally, activating resident fibroblasts to proliferate and synthesise new collagen and elastin. Simultaneously, VEGF promotes angiogenesis — the formation of new capillaries — improving local blood supply and nutrient delivery to the treated tissue. At MEDICOM, PRP is administered via intradermal microinjections or microneedling delivery across the face, neck, décolleté, or scalp (for hair loss treatment). The face protocol involves a systematic grid of small injections distributing the activated PRP across the cheeks, forehead, periorbital area, and perioral zone. For scalp PRP (androgenetic alopecia), injections target the areas of thinning to stimulate dormant follicles. Because PRP is autologous — derived entirely from the patient's own blood — the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is negligible. This makes it suitable for patients who prefer biological over synthetic treatments, and for those with sensitivities to HA fillers or synthetic biostimulators. A standard course is three sessions spaced four weeks apart; maintenance sessions every six to twelve months sustain results.
