Fractional laser resurfacing at MEDICOM Clinic Brno targeting photoageing, uneven skin tone, acne scarring, and texture irregularities. The laser creates controlled micro-ablative columns through the epidermis and dermis, stimulating intensive collagen regeneration and producing smoother, more even skin with each treatment.
Laser resurfacing at MEDICOM Clinic Brno uses a fractional ablative or non-ablative laser system to address the full spectrum of skin ageing and textural concerns — from fine surface lines and enlarged pores to deeper acne scars and significant photoageing damage. Fractional technology divides the beam into thousands of microscopic treatment columns (microthermal zones) separated by untreated tissue bridges. This architecture produces significant dermal remodelling while preserving enough surrounding intact tissue for rapid re-epithelialisation — combining the resurfacing efficacy of fully ablative CO₂ with a substantially shorter recovery than whole-field ablation. In fractional ablative mode, each micro-column vaporises a controlled volume of epidermis and upper dermis, creating a wound healing response that begins with inflammation, progresses through keratinocyte migration and re-epithelialisation of the ablated zones, and culminates in sustained fibroblast-mediated collagen production over 3–6 months. The intact tissue bridges between columns contain viable keratinocytes that migrate laterally to resurface the ablated zones within 24–72 hours, enabling recovery in days rather than the weeks required for full-field ablation. Clinically, a single fractional laser resurfacing session produces measurable improvement in fine lines, skin texture, pore size, superficial pigmentation, and mild acne scarring. More significant scarring and deeper rhytids require a series of two to four sessions. The procedure is performed after topical anaesthetic application, and in some cases a local nerve block may be added for patient comfort. Treatment parameters — pulse energy, density, and pass count — are individualised based on skin type, concern depth, and acceptable recovery time. Post-treatment, the skin appears red and may feel warm for 24–72 hours. Pinpoint bleeding or a mild bronzing effect (from coagulated epidermal debris) is normal before the treated columns exfoliate. Sun protection is mandatory for 4–6 weeks post-treatment as the newly synthesised epidermis is highly susceptible to UV-induced pigmentation.
