PDO Thread Lift

A thread lift is a minimally invasive alternative to surgical lifting in which fine absorbable threads — most often made of polydioxanone (PDO) — are introduced under the skin through a needle or cannula. Barbed or 'hook' threads grip the tissue so it can be gently lifted and repositioned, while smoother threads are used more to reinforce and stimulate. Beyond the immediate lift, the threads are associated with prompting collagen formation along their path as they are gradually absorbed, which can support firmer skin over time. A thread lift suits adults with mild to moderate laxity — such as early jowls or a softening jawline — but it cannot replace a surgical face-lift for significant sagging.
