Vascular Closure (EVRF Thermocoagulation)

Type

General Skin Treatment

Duration

30 min

EVRF thermocoagulation closes visible broken capillaries and small spider veins by applying precise radiofrequency energy through a fine probe, used on the face — cheeks, nose, chin — and on the legs and body. At Mediclaser it is priced by area, with single-capillary treatment also offered. The closed vessel is gradually reabsorbed by the body, which is associated with a clearer, more even complexion.

EVRF (endovascular radiofrequency) thermocoagulation is a treatment for visible broken capillaries, spider veins and small vascular lesions. A very fine insulated probe delivers a precisely controlled pulse of radiofrequency energy to the unwanted vessel, heating and sealing it. Once closed, the vessel is no longer perfused and is gradually broken down and reabsorbed by the body, which is associated with a reduction in redness and a more even skin tone over the following weeks. At Mediclaser the area is cleansed and the practitioner treats each vessel in turn; patients usually feel a brief, small pinch or warmth at each point. A session is quick — often ten to thirty minutes depending on how many vessels are treated — and downtime is minimal, with possible pinpoint marks, mild redness or tiny scabs that settle over several days. The clinic prices facial areas such as the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead and upper lip, as well as single capillaries and larger areas on the calves, thighs and back; more than one session is sometimes needed for dense or larger vessels. Strict sun protection afterwards supports healing and helps prevent marks. EVRF is suited to adults troubled by visible facial or leg capillaries and telangiectasia; suitability is confirmed during the medical interview, and the treatment is avoided in pregnancy and over active skin infection.
