Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Collection & Storage

Type

Regenerative Therapy

Duration

1 hour

What's included

5 deliverables in this treatment

  • Pre-collection immune assessment and HSC count
  • Peripheral blood separation via separator device (2–4 hours)
  • In-house haematopoietic stem cell processing and viability testing
  • Cryopreservation in liquid nitrogen with quality control certification
  • Consultation with MUDr. Radek Klubal on collection and storage strategy

MCP offers peripheral blood haematopoietic stem cell collection and long-term cryopreservation — a preventive investment in regenerative medicine. Unlike cord blood, which is available only at birth, peripheral blood stem cells can be collected at any age using a painless, new-technology blood collection method. MCP processes cells in its own laboratory infrastructure before cryopreservation. Stored cells can potentially be used for post-chemotherapy immune reconstruction, neurodegenerative disease therapy, HIV recovery, or other future cellular medicine applications.

About this treatment

Stem cell medicine is shifting from a treatment of last resort to a preventive act. MCP has positioned peripheral blood stem cell banking as part of its prevention platform — the idea being that cells collected before ageing, before oncological treatment, and before immune damage represent a higher-quality biological reserve than cells collected after illness has progressed.

Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are found in peripheral blood in small concentrations. They give rise to all blood cell types — red blood cells, platelets, and all immune cells — making them central to both blood disorders and immune system reconstruction. MCP uses a proprietary collection technology to harvest HSCs from peripheral blood without the need for bone marrow aspiration, which was historically the standard collection method.

Collection procedure

Good to know

Collection method
Peripheral blood separator — no bone marrow aspiration
Processing
In-house MCP laboratory — CD34+ cell isolation + viability testing
Storage
Cryopreservation at -196°C in liquid nitrogen
Session hours
Mon–Fri 8:00–17:00 (separator procedure slot)

Who is this for?

Adults 25–55 years old, patients with cancer family history, planned chemotherapy, early neurodegenerative symptoms, HIV patients, anyone investing in regenerative medicine reserves

Preparation required

Book a pre-collection consultation via extranet.mc-praha.cz. Avoid illness, anticoagulants, and intense exercise in the week before collection. Separator sessions are Monday–Friday 8:00–17:00; confirm specific appointment at booking.
