A clinical immunological examination follows. Laboratory analysis covers: - **Infection markers**: panels for common viral infections (EBV, CMV, herpes group), bacterial infections, fungal infections, and parasites - **Tick-borne diseases**: Lyme borreliosis serology (Borrelia burgdorferi IgG/IgM), tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) antibodies - **HIV monitoring**: viral load, CD4/CD8 ratio, resistance profiling - **Aggressive influenza strains**: including avian flu surveillance markers for returning travellers - **Full immune function panel**: cellular immunity, humoral immunity, complement, autoimmune markers For patients with unusual infection susceptibility, genetic analysis is available to identify rare primary immunodeficiencies or specific immune-response gene variants. MCP maintains its own laboratory infrastructure for processing haematopoietic stem cells and immune system cells — relevant for patients who may require cellular therapy in the future. The written report identifies the active infection status, assesses immune competence, and recommends a targeted treatment or prevention plan.
