Breast ptosis — sagging — is a natural consequence of pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuation, and skin ageing. A breast lift addresses the problem at its source: excess, stretched skin and descended glandular tissue. **The procedure:** Under general anaesthesia, the surgeon removes surplus skin through an incision pattern matched to the degree of sagging — periareolar for mild cases, vertical (lollipop) for moderate, or anchor-shaped for significant ptosis. The breast gland is reshaped and supported in a higher position and the nipple-areola complex is moved up to the natural level, usually with reduction of an enlarged areola at the same time.
