Type
MRI Scan
Duration
45 min
A contrast-enhanced MRI of the lesser pelvis examining the bladder, reproductive organs, rectum, and surrounding soft tissues. Used for staging gynaecological or urological conditions and evaluating pelvic pathology.
Pelvic MRI with gadolinium contrast provides high-resolution imaging of the pelvic organs and surrounding structures. In female patients, the examination evaluates the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and cervix, making it valuable for characterising adnexal masses, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and cervical pathology. In male patients, the scan assesses the prostate, seminal vesicles, and bladder. The contrast agent enhances the distinction between normal and abnormal tissue, improving the detection and characterisation of tumours, inflammatory conditions, and vascular abnormalities. Dynamic contrast-enhanced sequences can provide information about tissue perfusion patterns that help differentiate benign from malignant lesions. Available at both Vision Towers (3T) and Eiffel Clinic (1.5T). A physician referral documenting the clinical indication is required, along with recent kidney function test results for contrast safety clearance.
