Permanent hair reduction using medical-grade laser.

About this treatment

Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target and destroy hair follicles, preventing future hair growth. The laser's wavelength is absorbed by melanin (the pigment in hair), converting to heat that damages the follicle while leaving surrounding skin intact. Because hair grows in cycles and the laser is only effective on actively growing hairs (anagen phase), multiple sessions spaced 4–8 weeks apart are needed to treat all follicles. Most areas require 6–8 sessions for 70–90% permanent hair reduction. Modern lasers (diode, alexandrite, Nd:YAG) can safely treat a wide range of skin tones, though results are best with darker hair on lighter skin due to the melanin-targeting mechanism.

Who is this for?

Anyone wanting long-term hair reduction without the hassle of shaving, waxing, or threading. People with ingrown hairs or razor bumps who want a permanent solution. Those treating large areas (legs, back, chest) where other methods are time-consuming. Anyone who wants smooth, maintenance-free skin.

Preparation required

Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 2–4 weeks before treatment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for 2 weeks prior (shaving is OK). Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating acids 5–7 days before treatment. Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the treatment area. Inform the clinic of any medications that increase photosensitivity (antibiotics, accutane). A topical numbing cream may be applied 30–60 minutes before treatment.
