Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target and destroy hair follicles, preventing future hair growth. Preparation required
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 2–4 weeks before treatment. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for 2 weeks prior (shaving is OK). Discontinue retinoids and exfoliating acids 5–7 days before treatment. Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the treatment area. Inform the clinic of any medications that increase photosensitivity (antibiotics, accutane). A topical numbing cream may be applied 30–60 minutes before treatment.
