The Medi-Weightloss new patient evaluation at the Watertown, Massachusetts clinic is a comprehensive medical assessment designed to establish a complete diagnostic baseline before beginning a structured, physician-supervised weight management program. The visit is conducted by Dr. Jeanne Kilp, MD, FACOG, or one of the clinic's advanced practice providers — Rosemary Matejka, PA-C, Rebecca Alleyne-Holtzclaw, DNP, WHNP-BC, or Alice Rose, CNP — and typically runs approximately sixty minutes. During the visit, a full medical history is taken, covering current medications, past diagnoses, family history, lifestyle factors, and prior weight loss attempts. A comprehensive blood panel is drawn in-house to evaluate metabolic markers, blood glucose, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, and thyroid status — giving the clinical team a complete biochemical picture before any intervention is recommended. An electrocardiogram (EKG) is performed to establish cardiac baseline and screen for conditions that could affect exercise capacity or medication safety. Body composition analysis is conducted to measure lean mass, fat mass, and distribution, providing a more precise starting point than scale weight alone and enabling tracking of tissue changes throughout the program. The results from these diagnostics are reviewed with the patient in the same visit to explain findings and align on goals. From this baseline, the provider maps out a personalized three-phase Medi-Weightloss protocol: the Acute Weight Loss phase, with weekly clinic visits for close monitoring and adjustment; the Short-Term Maintenance phase, transitioning from active loss to stabilization; and the Wellness phase, with monthly check-ins for long-term habit support and accountability. The self-pay price is $199 and covers all diagnostic tests included in the visit. Most patients with major insurance coverage pay $0–$50 per visit. FSA and HSA payment is accepted.
