Lip Augmentation (Hyaluronic Acid)

Lip augmentation uses soft, cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler to enhance the lips' volume, shape and border definition while keeping movement and proportion natural. Treatment begins with a discussion of your goals — more hydration and a tidy border, a little extra fullness, or correction of asymmetry — and the physician recommends placement and volume accordingly, working in a single millilitre per session. A strong topical anaesthetic is applied and the lip products also contain lidocaine, so the procedure is generally well tolerated. The gel is placed with a fine needle or cannula and shaped by hand; results are immediate, though lips commonly swell for 24–48 hours and small bruises can occur before the final shape becomes clear over one to two weeks. Hyaluronic acid lip filler typically lasts around six to nine months, as the lips are mobile and metabolise filler relatively quickly, after which a top-up maintains the result. As with the centre's other hyaluronic acid treatments, the filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you wish to reverse or adjust it.
