A dental implant replaces a missing tooth with a titanium post placed in the jawbone that supports a crown, restoring both function and appearance without affecting neighbouring teeth. Medent offers a choice of systems — the established OSSTEM and the premium AstraTech (Dentsply) — placed by the clinic's maxillofacial surgeon. Where the bone needs reinforcing, augmentation and sinus-lift procedures are available so that implants can be placed predictably even in more demanding cases.
About this treatment
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Over a healing period the bone integrates with the implant surface, creating a stable foundation onto which a custom crown is later fitted.
