Laser mole removal at MED-LASER Jihlava offers a surgical-alternative approach to removing benign pigmented nevi (moles) that cause cosmetic concerns. The clinic uses laser energy to ablate the melanin-rich mole tissue, targeting the pigmented cells selectively and leaving surrounding skin intact. Because moles contain living melanocytes, the physician conducts a pre-treatment assessment to confirm the lesion is appropriate for laser removal — atypical or suspicious moles should be evaluated by dermoscopy before any cosmetic procedure. Under the direction of Prim. MUDr. Marie Policarová, the laser removal process is precise and the treated area heals over a period of days, typically leaving no visible scar in cosmetically important locations. The starting price from 600 Kč per mole reflects the minor scale of the individual procedure.
Moles (melanocytic nevi) are clusters of melanocytes — the pigment-producing cells of the skin — that have grouped together at or near the skin surface. They are extremely common: most adults carry between 10 and 40 nevi, and the majority are entirely benign. Some moles become a cosmetic concern because of their location, size, or change in appearance over time; others may catch on clothing or jewellery at body creases. Laser mole removal is an appropriate technique for confirmed benign, flat or slightly raised nevi. The laser targets melanin, the pigment within the melanocytes, and the light energy is converted to heat that destroys the melanocyte cluster. Because the laser is selective for melanin, surrounding normal skin is largely spared, and the treated site heals over as normal skin over approximately 7–14 days. A critical prerequisite for laser mole removal is dermatological assessment. Atypical moles — those that are asymmetric, have irregular borders or variable colouration, have grown rapidly, or exhibit other ABCDE criteria features — should be evaluated by dermoscopy (and potentially biopsied) before any cosmetic removal procedure. Laser ablation destroys the tissue and removes the ability to analyse it histologically afterward, which makes pre-clearance important for any mole that has not been recently assessed by a dermatologist. At MED-LASER Jihlava, Prim. MUDr. Policarová's clinical oversight provides this evaluation step. For confirmed benign nevi, the laser procedure itself takes a few minutes per mole. A crust forms and resolves over approximately one to two weeks. Multiple moles may be addressed in a single session. Preparation: clean, makeup-free skin in the area. Inform the clinic of any history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring. If the mole has changed recently, obtain a dermatological clearance before the laser appointment. Post-treatment: the treated site will form a small crust. Do not scratch or pick. Apply SPF 50+ to the healed area for at least 4 weeks after treatment. Not suitable for moles showing any atypical features without prior dermatological clearance.
