Lip enhancement at Med-Derm uses soft, cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler to improve the lips' volume, shape and border definition while keeping movement and proportion natural. Treatment begins with a discussion of your goals — more hydration and a tidier border, a little extra volume, or correction of mild asymmetry — and the doctor recommends a volume accordingly, often starting conservatively for first-time patients.
A topical anaesthetic is applied and the filler products generally contain lidocaine, so the procedure is usually well tolerated. The gel is placed with a fine needle or cannula and shaped by hand; results are immediate, though lips commonly swell for a day or two and small bruises can occur.
