The osteopath conducts a holistic assessment of the patient's musculoskeletal system, looking at structural alignment, joint mobility, and soft tissue tension patterns across the whole body. Treatment may include high-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA) joint manipulation, muscle energy techniques, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, and cranial osteopathy. The osteopathic approach considers the body as an integrated system, often identifying and treating contributing factors distant from the primary symptom area.
