Physiotherapy

Duration

15 min

Therapeutic electrotherapy session using one of several modalities — diadynamic currents (DD), interferential currents (IF), TENS, iontophoresis, or electrostimulation — selected by the physiotherapist based on the condition being treated.

Electrotherapy at MCK encompasses a range of electrical stimulation modalities commonly used in Polish rehabilitation medicine. The physiotherapist selects the appropriate modality based on the patient's condition: - DD (diadynamic currents): for acute and chronic pain relief, improving circulation - IF (interferential currents): for deep tissue pain and inflammation - TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation): for pain management via the gate control mechanism - Iontophoresis: for transdermal drug delivery using electrical current - Electrostimulation: for muscle re-education and strengthening in cases of weakness or atrophy Each session is prescribed as part of a rehabilitation programme and is frequently combined with cryotherapy, exercise, and manual therapy at MCK.
