Microscope-assisted endodontic treatment to save a tooth with infected or inflamed pulp rather than extracting it. Working under high magnification, the dentist removes the diseased tissue, cleans and disinfects the fine root canals, and seals them to prevent reinfection. About this treatment
Root canal (endodontic) treatment is needed when the soft pulp inside a tooth becomes infected or irreversibly inflamed — often from deep decay, a crack or trauma — causing pain, sensitivity or an abscess.
