Dermapen 4 microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin, improving texture, fine lines, enlarged pores and acne scarring. Microneedling with the Dermapen 4 device uses a cluster of fine needles oscillating at high speed to create thousands of precise micro-channels in the skin. These tiny, controlled injuries trigger the body's natural wound-healing response, which is associated with fresh collagen and elastin production that firms the skin and refines its surface over the following weeks. The micro-channels also allow active serums applied during treatment to penetrate more effectively. At MASI the skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied before treatment, which takes around thirty to forty-five minutes depending on the area. Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for 24–48 hours, after which skin often looks fresher and, over a few weeks, smoother and more even. It is well suited to uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines and mild-to-moderate acne scarring, and can be used on the face, neck, décolleté and the backs of the hands. For best results — particularly with scarring — a course of around three sessions spaced about four weeks apart is recommended.
