Laser Vascular & Redness Treatment

A laser that targets the haemoglobin in small dilated blood vessels and areas of facial redness, heating and collapsing them so they fade and are reabsorbed. It is well suited to broken capillaries, spider veins and the persistent flushing of conditions such as rosacea, particularly around the nose, cheeks and chin. Individual vessels or whole areas can be treated, with a short series giving the most even result.

Laser vascular treatment works by emitting a wavelength of light that is preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin inside small, unwanted blood vessels. The absorbed energy heats and coagulates the vessel wall so that the vessel collapses and is gradually reabsorbed by the body, reducing visible redness and fine thread veins. It is one of the more effective ways to address broken capillaries, spider veins and diffuse facial redness that does not respond to skincare. At MASI the skin is cleansed and the laser passed over the targeted vessels or area; treatment of a single vessel takes only a few minutes, while a full face is usually around half an hour. You may feel a brief snapping or warm sensation, and treated vessels can briefly darken or the area may look flushed and slightly swollen for a few hours to a day. Larger or more diffuse redness — such as that associated with rosacea — typically responds best to a short series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, as vessels clear progressively. The treatment is well suited to the nose, cheeks, chin, forehead and the wider face, neck and décolleté. Sun protection afterwards supports healing and reduces the chance of new vessels forming.
