PDO thread lifts use absorbable barbed threads placed under the skin to gently reposition and support areas that have begun to sag, such as the cheeks, jawline or brows. As well as an immediate subtle lift, the threads stimulate collagen along their path as they dissolve. A PDO thread lift uses fine, absorbable polydioxanone (PDO) threads — a material long used in surgical sutures — to lift and support soft tissue that has started to descend with age. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and typically takes around thirty to forty-five minutes depending on the number of threads. Fine entry points are used to pass the threads beneath the skin of the cheeks, jawline, brows or neck.
