Microneedling with PRP at Marina Medspa combines two complementary skin remodelling modalities using the Eclipse MicroPen Elite device and the Eclipse PRP centrifuge system. The procedure begins with a blood draw from the patient, which is processed in the Eclipse centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma. While the PRP is being prepared, topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 20–30 minutes. The Eclipse MicroPen Elite then creates thousands of fine vertical micro-channels in the skin surface at a controlled depth, triggering the skin's natural wound healing cascade — initiating collagen and elastin production as part of the repair process. Immediately following microneedling, the freshly prepared PRP is applied topically across the treated skin and massaged in; the micro-channels created by the needles allow the growth factors in the PRP to penetrate into the dermis at a depth that cannot be achieved by topical application alone, delivering PDGF, VEGF, TGF-β, and IGF-1 directly to the fibroblasts and stem cells responsible for dermal remodelling. The synergy between the mechanical micro-injury of needling and the growth factor stimulation from PRP is intended to amplify and accelerate the collagen remodelling response compared with either modality alone.
